Homecare Assistant (Full-time)
Full-time community Homecare Assistant across Lancaster and Morecambe Bay. Paid mileage, real training and a team that backs you.
Join our Lancaster & Morecambe Bay team as a full-time Homecare Assistant, delivering person-centred care in people's own homes. This is hands-on, meaningful work with consistent local rounds, paid mileage and an office team that genuinely supports you.
What you will get
Choose the rota pattern that works for you. All care roles must include a weekend-in and a weekend-off. A driver's licence is essential. Experience is not essential, as a full care induction and supported shadowing visits will be provided until you are confident.
What you will do
- Support clients in their own homes with personal care, washing, dressing and continence care, always with dignity.
- Help with medication, meal preparation, mobility and keeping the home safe and comfortable.
- Provide companionship and emotional support. You are often the friendly face a client sees that day.
- Follow each client's care plan and record clear, accurate notes after every visit.
- Spot changes in a client's health or wellbeing early and flag them to the office team.
What we are looking for
- A caring, patient and reliable nature. Experience is welcome but not essential, as full training is provided.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (mileage is paid at 35p per mile).
- The right to work in the UK and willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check.
- Good spoken and written English to follow care plans and keep clear records.
- Flexibility to work some mornings, evenings and alternate weekends on a planned rota.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need previous care experience to apply?+
No. Many of our best carers started with no formal experience. If you are kind, reliable and want to make a difference, we provide full paid training including the Care Certificate, so you are confident before you ever visit a client alone.
What pay and mileage can I expect?+
Pay is £14 to £16 per hour depending on the visit structure and your experience, and we pay mileage at 35p per mile between visits. You are paid as an employed carer, not on a zero-hours agency basis.
Do you pay for travel between clients?+
Yes. We pay 35p per mile for travel between client visits, because your time and fuel matter. You will need a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
Which areas would I cover?+
This role is based out of our branch and covers Lancaster, Morecambe, Carnforth, Galgate and Heysham. We build rotas around consistent local rounds wherever possible, so you are not driving across the county.
What training and progression is there?+
You get free, nationally recognised qualifications, free and paid CPD events, and a clear path to progress into senior carer and care coordinator roles. We promote from within wherever we can.
