Care across Lancaster and Morecambe Bay

Our Lancaster and Morecambe team supports families across the whole bay, not just the city. In Lancaster that means the centre near the castle, Scotforth, Bowerham, Aldcliffe, Ellel and the university area at Bailrigg. Across Morecambe Bay we also cover Morecambe, Heysham, Carnforth, Bolton-le-Sands, Hest Bank, Halton, Caton and Galgate. Local carers keep travel times short and become a familiar face rather than a different visitor each day.

Support home from Royal Lancaster Infirmary

Leaving hospital can be daunting, especially when you live alone. We work closely with the discharge team at Royal Lancaster Infirmary and with local GP practices so care is ready for the day you come home. Whether that means help with washing and dressing, medication prompts or just steady reassurance, we can usually have a carer in place quickly.

How home care is funded around Lancaster

Adult social care across the Lancaster district is managed by Lancashire County Council, which carries out assessments and arranges any council funding you are entitled to. Lancaster City Council is the local district council and does not run social care itself, which is a common point of confusion. Many of our clients also fund their own care privately. We are happy to explain how it works and deal with the county council on your behalf.

Specialist care from one local team

Families usually start with one type of support and add more as life changes. Our Lancaster team provides personal care, companionship, dementia care, respite for family carers, live-in care and end of life care at home. Keeping it within one consistent team means the people who already know you can carry on supporting you, even as needs change.

Getting started across Lancaster and the bay

Getting started is a relaxed, no-obligation conversation about what would help. Wherever you are across Lancaster, Morecambe or the surrounding villages, we can usually arrange a home assessment within days and confirm carer availability quickly. Our office is open Monday to Friday, and a real member of the team is always reachable on our 24-hour on-call line, including evenings and weekends.

Frequently asked questions

Which areas do you cover from the Lancaster branch?

We cover Lancaster city, including the centre near the castle, Scotforth, Bowerham and the university area at Bailrigg, and right across Morecambe Bay, including Morecambe, Heysham, Carnforth, Bolton-le-Sands, Hest Bank, Halton, Caton and Galgate.

Who funds home care in Lancaster?

Adult social care across the Lancaster district is managed by Lancashire County Council, not Lancaster City Council. The county council handles assessments and any council funding. We also support many privately funded clients and can guide you through either route.

Do you coordinate with Royal Lancaster Infirmary?

Yes. We work regularly with the discharge planning team at Royal Lancaster Infirmary and can often arrange care within 48 hours so support is ready when a patient returns home. Call our Lancaster team on 01524 881 211 to discuss a discharge referral.

Do you provide care in the evenings, at night or at weekends?

Our office is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Care visits can be arranged across evenings and weekends, and a 24-hour on-call line means you can always reach a real person, day or night.

What types of care do you provide?

Personal care, companionship, dementia care, respite care, live-in care and end of life care at home, all delivered by the same local team across Lancaster and Morecambe Bay.

Are your carers employed and CQC regulated?

Yes. Our carers are employed by us rather than agency staff, are DBS checked, and our service is regulated by the Care Quality Commission.
